My proposed work during residency at ART 342 will be to complete two national consortium commissions. The first is for the Atlantic Coast Conference Band Directors Association, an organization of twelve premier university wind ensembles from the East Coast including Duke University, the University of Miami, the University of North Carolina, the University of Virginia, and Boston College.
The second commission is a new work for alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and piano. The commissioners for this work are four saxophone professors from throughout the nation: Patrick Meighan, Florida State University; John Goss, University of Louisville; Scott Turpen, University of Wyoming; and Peter Sommer, Colorado State University. This work will receive performances in Colorado, Wyoming, Florida, and Kentucky with a probable performance at the 2010 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference.
