Writing from my experience about the complicated systems in which the individual moves is my primary creative obsession. I believe that secrets are powerful, but that the young and inexperienced don’t understand that power and often conceal information they find frightening. My protagonists are not protected, nor are they sure. They don’t see a world of possibility, they look for places to hide, and in hiding, they act out and eventually learn that a life of fear is limiting.
